The Challenge

AEGIS London Holdings Ltd is part of an industry that like many, is heavily reliant on email communication, and data exploration within Excel. In an effort to centralise information, AEGIS had implemented SharePoint Foundation. As with many SharePoint platforms, however, it became hard to mine information due to the improvable architecture.

How Aiimi Helped

Through consultation and demonstration, Aiimi proved to AEGIS that SharePoint can be crucial to the digitalisation of the insurance industry. We then evidenced the value of excellent information architecture within the SharePoint Foundation platform to the business. Next, we improved that architecture. The Infrastructure and an Enterprise licence was then upgraded so that AEGIS could fully utilise the platform, and reap the rewards.

"The SharePoint Server Enterprise platform implemented by Aiimi is now helping AEGIS to build a digital future. The SharePoint Server Enterprise provides a solid platform for underwriters to collaborate, a central storage with search facilities for important information, and a location for next generation Management Information dashboards."

The Challenge

At the start of AMP6, Anglian Water embarked upon several strategic transformation programmes. These were intended to enable the organisation to meet its business goals, and realise its desired customer outcomes. A common requirement and shared critical success factor of these programmes was access to high quality information and next- generation business intelligence. The board knew the demand for analytics was already outstripping supply, and that the business needed to be more mobile and agile so it could ride the wave of digital disruption. Could Enterprise Information Management really enable the business to become more proactive and productive, and deliver a better service?

How Aiimi Helped

Working with Anglian Water, Aiimi created an Enterprise Information Vision. This was supported/informed by an Information Charter and a set of Information Principles that are consistent with the organisation’s aim to improve its information management.

To deliver this vision, we developed four information strategies around Content, Data, Mobile and Business Intelligence. Each of these strategies included a roadmap to ensure Anglian Water benefited ASAP, while building a foundation for sustainable change.

As part of an EIM alliance with Anglian Water, Cap Gemini and CSC, we developed an integrated technology roadmap. We installed information governance, improved organisational capabilities, and co-developed demonstration areas. Our work with Anglian Water showed how a user-centred and agile approach can deliver better outcomes for users, stakeholders and customers. This work is ongoing.

"The EIM Alliance is established and is now focused on outcomes, with shared risk and reward for delivery of value back to the business. New governance around information management is helping Anglian Water to avoid point solutions, and increasing the value of its information assets."

The Challenge

Avecto is an endpoint security software enterprise with offices in London, NY and Germany. Avecto needed to reduce its premises costs, and preserve the longevity of its SharePoint Server platform. The Avecto team therefore asked Aiimi to move them to SharePoint Online, and introduce the latest cloud and mobile first features into their business.

How Aiimi Helped

Working closely with the business departments Aiimi designed and built a smart new information architecture for Avecto, enabling them to more intuitively navigate to content. Having also migrated the existing on-premises SharePoint content to the new areas of the cloud, Avecto now more efficiently share content across departments.

"Avecto now has a future-proof, evolving SharePoint platform utilising the Office 365 capability that staff want to use, providing a scalable environment to meet the ambitious growth plans of the company."

biffa-logo.jpg

The Challenge

Biffa had, over time, developed extensive data warehouse, ETL, and business intelligence solutions to consolidate and analyse operational data from various line of business systems. Most of the knowledge and expertise regarding the design and maintenance of these systems was vested in 1 or 2 key individuals. During the planning stages of a programme of work to upgrade and move this entire platform into the cloud, their main expert became unavailable at short notice, and Biffa sought Aiimi's assistance to complete the planning and execution of this programme, and to provide support for their BI issues in the meantime.

How Aiimi Helped

Aiimi conducted a wide-ranging system inventory, review, and health-check. Existing solution architecture and key configuration settings were documented, and observations and improvements made for increased performance and resilience. Aiimi then provided transitional solution architecture and planning to enable the transfer and switch-over of the entire system into the cloud. Throughout this period, Aiimi provided 3rd line support to resolve all day-to-day issues affecting Biffa's MicroStrategy BI platform.

"With Aiimi’s help, Biffa were able to document and tune their existing business intelligence systems, resolve ongoing issues, and leverage our knowledge and expertise to plan for a more efficient solution architecture in the cloud."

The Challenge

A traditional IT infrastructure was limiting BSI’s International Projects department’s remote working capacities. The rest of the business was digitizing; but Network Shares and a VPN connection from remote locations around the world were constraining its workforce.

How Aiimi Helped

To address the problem, Aiimi implemented SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. These platforms enable BSI’s International Projects teams to collaborate easily, and store project related content centrally. OneDrive for Business features also enabled a background sync of files, which allowed the teams to carry on working despite slow connections.

"The SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business platforms implemented by Aiimi for BSI have enabled collaboration and content access from almost anywhere on any device. This has increases productivity and diminished the frustrations of a traditional IT framework."

The Challenge

Consult Hyperion is an independent consultancy specializing in secure electronic transactions. Legacy IT infrastructure such as Network Shares and .NET Applications were forcing the Consult Hyperion team to seek better ways to surface their content and data. The company turned to Aiimi to make it happen ASAP.

How Aiimi Helped

Aiimi took a phased approach to delivering the end-to-end requirement. The first phase has been rolled out successfully. This involved unifying project content, and building a platform that supplied the various departments in Consult Hyperion’s project timeline.

"The expansion of the Content and Data platform transforms the legacy .NET application into dashboards in SharePoint using Business Connectivity Services and External Lists/Content Types. The results are in accordance with Consult Hyperion’s objectives for the project."

Cuadrilla.jpg

The Challenge

Cuadrilla had insufficient governance or control of its information, and poor metadata and classification. Content was held in different silos within four main business functions, and defined in different taxonomies. Search was not configured and non-operational. Nobody in the business trusted search results, if there were any at all. Finding business critical content had become all but impossible. A solution was required, fast.

How Aiimi Helped

Using SharePoint 2013, Aiimi delivered a content management solution based on robust Enterprise Information Management principles, and the power of Search. This project entailed unifying four business functions to manage 100+ cross functional projects, which are the lifeblood of the organisation. Each business function was analysed to understand the types of content owned and authored. We reverse-engineered some of the existing folder structures. Content analysis gave us the Information Management hierarchy needed to produce the required Enterprise SharePoint Taxonomy and associated metadata.

"Aiimi continues to work with Cuadrilla to support and manage the new SharePoint based BIM platform. Information is now much easier to find and use for all concerned."

DfID.svg.png

The Challenge

The Department for International Development (DFID) is a ministerial department that exists to end extreme poverty worldwide. DFID and has offices in 40 of the world’s most deprived countries. DFID undertakes funding and project work, and collaborates with global banks, governments, and in-country delivery partners. An efficient, flexible and robust content management solution is therefore imperative to DFID’s operation.

How Aiimi Helped

DFID needed a content management system that could function with very limited bandwidth and severe connection problems in very challenging local environments.
Aiimi worked with Lockheed Martin to implement an OpenText Content Server content management system, hosted for the DFID in Microsoft Azure in the UK. This system services all DFID’s 40 locations around the world. Using cutting edge remote caching technology, our proprietary user-experience management platform and offline client working, we have vastly improved the reputation and usability of the department’s systems. We are proud to say that we have provided a reliable content management system to all 3600 of DFID’s staff no matter where in the world they work, and under almost any connectivity conditions.

“Aiimi worked on the ground with DFID both in the UK and in Rwanda to implement and test, to train, and to manage change. Now, Aiimi actively manages the OpenText Content Server system using its automated Application Management and Monitoring product. Aiimi also works with Lockheed Martin to manage the platform as a service delivery model.”
