DevOps Engineer

Background

As the DevOps Engineer within Aiimi Labs, you will be responsible for supporting our clients, from installation, configuration, through to upgrades and providing ongoing BAU support. You will act as the operational interface for customers of Aiimi Labs, working in an Agile environment. This role will be a true hybrid of development and support work. You will be required to take the lead in maintaining and improving the DevOps processes to reflect current best practice.

This role will require you to liaise with clients, many of whom are FTSE 250 organisations, both in person and by phone or email. Due to this, strong communication skills and the ability to travel are essential for this role. There will also be the need to work outside of core hours from time to time, as upgrades will likely be done in the evening or weekends. 

Requirements of the Role

Working alongside a team of dedicated colleagues, you will be responsible for the following areas:

• Deploy and configure Aiimi Labs products to multiple blue-chip clients, ensuring a high standard of quality at all stages

• Support all production releases including managing the environment used in the product release process

• Packaging and testing of deployments from testing through to production environments

• Work on development tasks and bug fixes during the sprint cycle

• Be an active participant in the evolvement of the product, development and its release

• Utilise continuous integration and deployment methods whilst maintaining a strong business focus

• Installation of software in to Managed Service accounts

• Ensure all requests are escalated and resolved appropriately within pre-agreed SLAs as determined by individual clients

• Work with customers to validate changes, fix deployment issues and ensure minor enhancements and major changes are documented as required

• Report bugs/issues to the relevant team member

• Provide BAU support and issue resolution as needed along with general systems admin

• Working with the Aiimi Labs QA Tester to ensure software is running as it should

• Liaise with 3rd party suppliers and vendors and be comfortable collaborating and communicating across functional barriers 

Essential Experience  

We would be keen to see applications with experience in some of the following areas:

  • Support experience within a managed service environment, demonstrating stakeholder management on premise and remote
  • Demonstrable experience in the full Microsoft technology stack including .NET development experience
  • Working in agile devops team
  • Configuration management and infrastructure experience
  • Experience with web-based apps
  • Be able to receive, prioritise, resolve and document customer requests
  • Ensure all interactions are to a high standard of customer service

The following experience would be beneficial to this role:

• A desire to be part of an exciting start up environment, working on a world leading product that is part of the next
generation of data

• Experience of modern JavaScript frameworks 

• An interest or commercial experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data

• Experience with Elastic Search 

• Experience with virtualisation and containerisation

Compensation

  • Competitive Salary!
  • Up to 10% of basic salary in flexible benefits (to include death in service and critical illness cover as standard plus private healthcare, dental, pension etc.)
  • Up to 10% of basic salary in bonus
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (you will receive an additional day of annual leave for every 2 years of your employment)
