Enabling AI search with 330% ROI for a major manufacturer.
This global manufacturer wanted the ability to navigate hard-to-reach historical data, in order to optimise processes, unify its information, and, ultimately, save time and money.
Users were being impacted by an inability to use existing design information to shorten new design cycles, identify relevant subject matter experts (SMEs), and evidence design decisions during market approval processes.
400 million documents and drawings were labelled with the names of their subjects, engineers, products, subsystems, and parts, to enable our customer to build a comprehensive knowledge network of all its design information.
Users were enabled to access previously hard-to-reach data from across the organisation, including finding information for quality control/testing purposes or specialist reviews, and identifying SMEs for certain processes, projects, or components. For example, an engineer or quality analyst can select a component or system they’re working on, and the Aiimi Insight Engine will present them with a relationship map of the relevant SMEs, existing design documentation, and equivalent platform architecture components.
Users have noted that their searches have a very high success rate, with the majority finding what they are looking for within two searches (and mostly, through the first search). Searches that would typically take 60 to 90 minutes using other means can now be completed within five minutes. Overall, it's helped drive operational, engineering, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Saves between 30 minutes to four hours per search need, when compared to other search tools
- Very high success rate in finding information (75% within first search)
- Users report up to 80% efficiency gain through better access to data, users freed up for value-add activities
- Supports the reduction of risk through improved visibility of information
- The Aiimi Insight Engine delivers over 330% annual ROI across Manufacturing and Quality Control teams (includes additional benefits realised as a result)
- Additional benefits include: improving cost efficiency in the Quality Control process by identifying repeated test failures to surface opportunities for root cause analysis; unlocking value from historic data previously underutilised by teams, and enabling data deduplication.
To optimise further, we’re now looking to see how we can onboard more users onto the platform, exploring how new features on Aiimi's roadmap can benefit the organisation, and aligning to specific business-led initiatives, including sustainability.

“There is so much data hidden away, we simply couldn’t find the historical information without it!”
